When you pull up to Canyon Lodge at Yellowstone National Park to check in your will notice it is DEFINITELY very early 60’s looking, BUT have no fear because the newly built lodges that house the rooms are beautiful!
They just recently finished construction on most of the lodges and were working on 2 more while we were there. They still have a few of the super dated 1950’s style cabins, but the rooms inside the lodges are new and very well appointed, so when you are booking be aware of the different between the cabin and the lodge room.
My only recommendation is to request a room away from the entry of the lodge. We had a room near the entry and it is a set of automatic sliding doors, so we could hear it sliding open and closed until late in the night and then starting very early in the morning.
Have you stayed at Canyon Lodge before?

Excellent! We have a Superior Lodge Room With Patio reserved for two nights later this month. Any photos or comments on the “patio”? I’m assuming a small area with a couple of chairs and small table?

Yes, it is on the ground floor with 2 chairs and a little table. I just added a picture to this post so you could see. Have a great trip!
