I have been waiting 4 YEARS for this email…
The NYC Marathon has been at the top of my bucket list. It is an expensive race all around, but it is a lifetime experience that I want. I have entered every year for the last 4 years. I cried every year when the lottery was over and I wasn’t “in”. Then today this email came…
I once again cried, but this time it was a happy cry. A fall to my knees happy cry followed by a jumping up and down screaming happy dance! I am SO excited to be able to run the NYC Marathon in 2015.

So happy for you! I read your post recently about hoping to get in. It’s my goal for when I turn 40, which is 6 years from now. I’m a new runner, only running since September. I just did my first half; the princess half at Disney. Best of luck to you! I’ll enjoy reading about your journey, as I’ve enjoyed reading about your races thus far.

me me me! This was my first time entering the lottery but when I saw at 8:00am they had charged my card, I starting shaking and crying (yes I was on the train to work). I just got the official email and started crying again! insane that i will be doing this! after all of that, I signed up for the wine and dine 5k and half! I will be heading down right after the marathon.

Holy smokes!!! You have great luck!!! Go buy a PowerBall ticket!!!! Lol. I always run Wine and Dine, so now I’m torn (since I live in CA) whether to forgo W&D or not. I LOVE Wine and Dine though. Hhhhmmmmmmmmmm….decisions….expensive decisions…lol. Congrats and I will see you there 🙂

Congratulations!! I entered the draw too, but I was one of the 82% and not the 18% that were fortunate today. I will try my luck for Chicago. I’ve read it’s a fabulous race, but it seems like such a consolation right now after not getting into New York. Of course, I may not get drawn and end up in neither marathon!

I ran Chicago in October and it was AMAZING! I get goosebumps just thinking about the experience. I can’t recommend Chicago Marathon enough. The crowd support was the best I have ever seen and the course is overall very flat, great course! Good luck!!! I will have my fingers crossed for you.

Hi there! I just found your blog and I’m so glad I did. I recently started running after a long hiatus and I can’t believe i forgot how great it is. I’ve really enjoyed your posts and I’m glad you’re able to run the NYC marathon!! It’s on my bucket list too (along with the Marine Corp Marathon in DC). I’ve only watched it on youtube and thoroughly enjoyed it, just imagining running the route…total dream come true!!

I ran Marine Corps this past October and I definitely recommend it! It was awesome!!! Welcome back to running!!! 🙂
