I was given complimentary entry to Great America, but was not paid for this post. All opinions are always my own.
I grew up only 15 minutes away from California’s Great America. As a kid I would come to the amusement park a lot. The last time I was at Great America was for my physics class field trip in high school (Best science class field trip EVER). Now that my daughter likes bigger rides I was very excited to take her and have a fun family day.
I told my daughter all about the 2 story carousel and as soon as we walked in she saw it and instantly wanted to ride.
To my surprise though she didn’t want to ride up top. She insisted on riding on the lower level.
We rode on Loggers Run, which is Great America’s log ride. My daughter and I were sitting in the front of the log and we got SOAKED. She was laughing hysterically.
We walked all around. My daughter loved watching people plays all the games. It brought back so many memories.
We met Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts crew in Kidzville. My daughter is still scared shy of the characters. We had a ball riding the little Taxi Jam roller coaster in Kidzville. My little monkey had her arms in the air the whole time.
One of my favorite parts was going on the Star Tower. The views from up top are awesome. We had a birds eye view of the new 49er’s stadium that is having the finishing touches put on it.
We also had a great view of Gold Striker, the tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster in Northern California.
We had such a fun time at California’s Great America and my daughter keeps asking when we can go back. I should probably get us season passes since my daughter will probably ask to go everyday for the rest of summer.

I love wood coasters too. I can’t wait until my daughter is tall enough for that one 🙂

Looks like a fun time. I used to take my daughter to the one in Illinois all the time, but now that she’s a teen, she’d rather go with her friends. 🙁 Cherish the times!
