That Time My 6 Year Old Daughter Got Her First Haircut At Disney World Harmony Barber Shop

My 6 year old daughter, who if you follow along here regularly you know as Little Monkey, had never had a haircut.  She will be 7 at the end of March and her hair was crazy long.  It was past her bum and it took a ton of time to keep it washed, brushed and styled.  She would cry when it was tangled and needed to be brushed out.  It became more of a hassle than anything.  

I finally talked her into getting her first hair cut while we were at Disney World for the Disney World Marathon Weekend.  I called ahead of time and made an appointment at the Harmony Barber Shop in the Magic Kingdom.  

The “baby’s first haircut” package is $25 and includes “My First Haircut” Mickey ears and a certificate.  I imagine that most people that come in for their first haircut are actually babies and have much shorter hair. 😉 

The cast member that did the haircut though was very nice.  Little Monkey was shaking and looked like she was going to vomit, but all in all it worked out ok.  She made it through, cutting off 11 inches and now can put her hair in a ponytail all by herself!  Hallelujah! 

The Harmony Barber Shop was the perfect place for Little Monkey’s first haircut.  It was well worth the $25.  I am glad I called a few weeks ahead and booked the appointment because they are very busy and only occasionally take walk-ins.
