Swim Bike Run Workout

As some of you know I am really entertaining the idea of a triathlon.  I am typically a runner and this would be my first attempt at a triathlon.  I think my fun, determined, motivated, daring self really wants a new big goal.  My more reserved side is thinking about the time for the training, the cost of a new bike and the sometimes painful bike SEAT itself and wondering if I really need or should do it.

Today I needed a good workout after a pretty stressful week, so I was inspired by the idea of a triathlon and I did a swim bike run workout.  It felt great!  The distances weren’t super long, but I made do with what time I had.

I swam 20 laps, than a quick change and I hit the stationary bike for a hill workout for 20 minutes.  After that I hopped on the treadmill and ran 2 miles.  I loved it.  It was just what I needed and I’m already planning another swim bike run workout for a longer time period.

Are you a runner and have tried a triathlon?  Any thoughts?  To be honest my worries are swimming in a large crowd of people and the hills on a bike.  Would love to hear any words of wisdom, both good and bad 🙂
