6 Reasons to Stay At Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek Disney World

Are you looking for a Disney World Hotel?  Wondering about staying off property at Disney World? Looking for hotels near Disney World with shuttle?  Are you running Disney and need a great race weekend hotel? 

There are so many hotels near Disney World that it can be daunting to have to choose.  Don’t worry though, I have you covered (and spoiler alert, there is even an amazing lazy river!)  Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek has everything in a hotel you want and more.  If you are heading to Disney World for a runDisney race weekend and planing to run one of the half marathons there, this hotel is a fantastic choice.  Here are 6 reasons why:

1. The Shuttle-  Not only does Hilton Bonnet Creek have a shuttle to the Disney theme parks at Walt Disney World, but on marathon weekends, they also have race transportation!  When I stayed during Disney World Marathon Weekend there was a motorcoach for both the half and full marathon. The shuttle is the easiest way to get to the race starting area.  Let’s be honest, you don’t want to have to drive yourself at 3am anyways, so enjoy this hotel transportation. 
2. Fireworks View Room- Hilton Bonnet Creek has rooms with a view of the Disney World fireworks that is incredible.  On race weekends I don’t want to feel like I’m missing out on the fun at the theme parks, but I really need to be in my room before 10pm at night.  The fireworks view room brings the fun to me in the comfort of my bed.  I was able to watch the fireworks and be cozy and resting at the same time. 
3. The Lazy River-  When vacationing in Florida, whether you are running or not, the pool area is super important.  Hilton Bonnet Creek has my favorite pool area complete with water slide, hot tub and lazy river.  After running a half marathon, cruising around the lazy river is a dream come true. 
4. Late Checkout for Runners-  Part of the runners package at Hilton Bonnet Creek includes a 2pm late checkout.  This means that on Sunday, after I was done running the marathon, I had plenty of time to get back to the hotel, shower, pack up, and not feel rushed to check out of the hotel.  This, in my opinion, is one of the biggest bonuses because I don’t know of another hotel at Disney World that does this for runners.
5. Carb-loading- The last thing you want to have to worry about is what to eat the night before your race.  At Hilton Bonnet Creek there are multiple delicious restaurants.  At Harvest Bistro they even have a special carb-load menu on the race weekend.  I enjoyed the pasta carbonara the night before the marathon.  It was so nice to just walk downstairs from my room and enjoy a nice comfortable, quiet meal, and then head back to my room to rest up for the race.   They also had an amazing Runners Reception on Saturday with delicious flatbreads and a beautiful crudité spread that I could’ve munched on for days.  Did I mention all the delicious food? ? 
6. The Staff- You guys, the staff at Hilton Bonnet Creek is AMAZING! They are always friendly and helpful.  One race weekends they have a runners concierge that can help you with questions and getting what you need. My favorite part though is that tons of the staff get up early and are down there at 2:45am to cheer on the runners before they get on to the bus. I’m talking DJ spinning music, pom poms, signs, tutus, cheering, and they also put out snacks and coffee for the runners.  I have traveled the world running races and have never had a send off like this! 

Whether you are coming to Disney World to run or to play, I definitely recommend Hilton Bonnet Creek.  My stay was incredible and I will definitely be back. That lazy river is calling my name ?
