Star Wars Land Is Finally Announced

A lot of us had heard rumors for a while about Star Wars Land, but it is finally real. The speculation about which park would get it is over.  The answer is BOTH Disneyland and Disney World will get it.  At Disney World it will be in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  I was at the presentation at the D23 Expo and they didn’t give any dates as far as anticipated completion, or even when ground breaking is for that matter.  They did give some of their concept images to give us an idea of what it would look like.

Ambitious plans to bring Star Wars to life in the two parks include creating Disney’s largest single themed land expansions ever at 14 acres each, transporting guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before wild space where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life.

One of the rides will be your chance to drive the Millennium Falcon.

Being in the room when Bob Iger got on stage and announced Star Wars Land was insane.  Some of the people in the room went so crazy you would’ve thought they had just won a car or something.  It was pretty electrifying.  I was told we would receive more information in the near future, so as soon as I hear anything I will let you know.
