The Smurfs: The Legend of Smurfy Hollow DVD Review and Giveaway

I love Halloween and I love The Smurfs, so when I had the opportunity to watch The Smurfs: The Legend of Smurfy Hollow I jumped at it.  It stars Papa Smurf, Brainy Smurf, Smurfette and the whole gang.

The Smurfs: The Legend of Smurfy Hollow is a new movie coming to DVD and features the same voice talent that was in the movie The Smurfs 2 including Fred Armisen and Hank Azaria.  The movie was directed by Stephan Franck (who also directed Despicable Me).

This movie kept my 3 year old’s attention the whole time.  It is just under a half hour long, so it is the perfect length for young children.  I loved that it uses the new computer generated style Smurfs, like the new The Smurfs 2 movie, and also the traditional hand drawn style Smurfs that I grew up watching as a child.

The movie is inspired by one of my favorite Halloween classics “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”.  The Smurfs: The Legend of Smurfy Hollow has a great message about family and friendship which I really like for a family Halloween movie.

The Smurfs: The Legend of Smurfy Hollow debuts on DVD September 10th.
