If you are looking for a running costume idea, you have come to the right place. I have created and ran in a lot of Disney running costumes and have lots to share with you. Group running costumes are also a fun idea and I will cover that as well. Let’s get started. 
Fun Running Costumes
The first step of a fun running costume is to brainstorm ideas of what you would like to dress up as. If this is Disney you should start thinking about which Disney character you want to dress up like, or park attraction, don’t rule those out either. Second step, make sure you will be able to actually run dressed in the costume.

The Best Way to Make a Running Costume
My best advice for how to make a running costume is to make it using running clothes. Find the right color shirt and pants you need for the costume and then build the costume on top of it. This will help protect you from chiffon, over heating, or other problems with store-bought costumes.
For example, if you want to dress as Belle, find a yellow running tank to add the cap sleeves to and make a yellow tutu to wear over your normal running pants.
There are also lots of companies that make costumes specifically for runners. Sparkle Athletic makes basic thin running tutus to wear over your pants and come in every color. There are also lots of Etsy stores that will custom make a costume for you.
