A Run On The Beach For My Last Full Day In Florida
Today was our last full day in Florida. Tomorrow we make the 2 hour drive back to the Orlando Airport to fly home to California. Today was the first day where is was clear enough without rain that I actually got to run on the beach. Woohoo!
I only did 3 miles, but it felt great. My husband and daughter got to play on the beach and swim while I ran, so it was fun for the whole family.
It was about 88 degrees and super humid, but it was slightly overcast. It didn’t feel to bad.
We have family in Vero Beach and that is typically where we stay when we are in Florida (and not in Orlando at Disney World). It is such a beautiful town with fun restaurants and cute shops. They have great beaches too.
Yesterday we went up to the HUGE Ron Jon Surf Shop in Cocoa Beach and I will have a post and giveaway from there soon.
Next weekend I will be running the Wharf to Wharf, which is from Santa Cruz to Capitola, California. It is 6 miles and a beautiful course. There is no medal involved, but it always sells out in just a couple days (15,000 runners) and there are tons of people cheering you on the whole time. It is a very fun race.
On a side note I am all set to go to the D23 Expo- “The Ultimate Disney Fan Event” and bring you all the details! I will be at Disney Aug 8-12. Than 2 weeks later I will be back at Disneyland to run the runDisney Dumbo Double Dare Challenge consisting of the Disneyland 10k Saturday and the Half Marathon Sunday. My 3 year old is going to be the happiest girl ever with so much Disneyland in one month! I was joking with my husband that I get media credentials to go to the D23 expo and he gets to take our daughter on Small World and the Little Mermaid ride 56 times! It is a win win for both of us right? (haha) Maybe I’m a little more excited than he is, but he loves it too. I think my husband wishes our 3 year old met the height requirement for Radiator Springs though.

Looking forward to D23 Expo! My son and I are coming out from Ohio for the event and hope to see as much as possible. Who knows, maybe we will run into you! I’m also running the Tower of Terror 10 miler and WDW 5k, 10k and half in 2014. They should call that the “Bashful” since the thought of going another 26.2 miles is too much for some of us new runners! See you in August.
