On Sunday, October 25th I ran Rock ‘n’ Roll Los Angeles Half Marathon. I have had a lot of fun being part of the Rock ‘n’ Blog team this year. LA was my 3rd Rock ‘n’ Roll race this year and it earned me my Cali Combo medal and my “Rock Trio Heavy Medal“. Extra bling is always a good thing!
The race is the weekend before Halloween, so my daughter and I decided to pick out a costume for me. My daughter fell in love with “Pumpkin Spice”, which is basically if Judy Jetson dressed up as a pumpkin. The wig even had a little stem on top.
The race started at 7am near Staples Center.
We run out towards USC and around the Colosseum Stadium. We then turn around and run back to downtown LA.
Ok, here is my no lying part: the first half of the course is perfectly flat…the last half not so much. The hills in the last couple miles through downtown LA were a little brutal.
We ran past Walt Disney Concert Hall.
The saving grace was that the last mile to the finish line is downhill. I finished and got my bling! (The heady medal rock trio one gets mailed to me).
It was fun to see friends and other runners in costume. I had a great time and I can’t wait for my next Rock ‘n’ Roll race!
