Over The River And Through The Woods…

…to grandmother’s house we go.  Do you have that song stuck in your head now?  I do.  We head over the Sierras today to spend Thanksgiving with my mom near Tahoe.  If there is enough snow my daughter might even have her first ski lesson!  Yay!!!!  I still remember mine, down to the snack they fed me and I was 3 years old.

Today is my daughter’s last day of preschool until next Monday.  We made “Thankful” presents for her preschool teachers because we are very thankful for them.  My daughter helped me make the chocolate covered Oreos and flower pops.  Just a little something to say thank you.

FullSizeRenderI know a lot of us and our families are traveling over the next couple days, so I hope everyone travels safe.

My husband is Italian and we are planning to make the his family tomato sauce recipe this week.  It takes 3 days and we usually do it a couple times a year.  I love the way simmering the sauce for days makes the house smell.

I decided on Thanksgiving morning I am going to kick it off by running 13.1 miles.  I give thanks for how running and the half marathon distance impacted my life.  How will you be spending Thanksgiving?  (Other than eating of course)

I’m jealous that you get to half marathon on Thanksgiving! I’m a little pregnant now and running has been put on the back burner. I’m hoping I make it for my 4 miler turkey trot! Hope you have a nice holiday!
