AND it went GREAT! Yay! I’ve been really worried about re-injuring it if I ran to early, but didn’t want to lose to much training going into the Dopey Challenge in less than 2 weeks. I listened to my body as far as rest, ice etc. I got my courage up and out I went.
My daughter has been sick and has a cough that is slightly croupy, so fresh air did us both some good. I put her in the jogging stroller and she fell sleep almost immediately. The weather was beautiful out, sunny but a little brisk. I ran for 4.5 miles and felt great. I needed it to get a little piece of my sanity back. I didn’t want to go to far and push my luck, but far enough that I could see how my ankle would do. I wore my ankle brace, but didn’t feel any pain at all, just some slight stiffness. This is what my ankle looked like 2 weeks ago today. Very swollen.
Bring it on Dopey Challenge! I’m coming for ya! I’ll still be “easy” on it in the meanwhile, but it is a relief to know that my ankle didn’t give out on me after a mile.

Glad that your ankle is better. That first run after an injury always makes me a little hesitant! Good luck with Dopey!

I’m glad your run went great! My friend is doing the Dopey Challenge so I admire anyone who even considers doing it. I’m running the Princess Half in Feb…but who knows, maybe one day for a Dopey Challenge! Good luck!

One day you will definitely be up for a Dopey Challenge. I’ll see you at Princess Half!
