The Real Mary Poppins Costumes

I have always loved the movie Mary Poppins. I couldn’t be a more proud mom that my 3 year old also loves Mary Poppins. At The D23 Expo 2013, I had the Mary Poppins exhibit, which was part of the Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives, on my must do list.

Do you recognize these blocks? They are part of the “Spoon Full of Sugar” nursery scene where they stack themselves.

Mary Poppins’ super cool carpet bag. There was no hat rack in it today though.

Mary Poppins’ gorgeous dress from the famous half animated scene. I got goose bumps when I looked at it. It was so delicate like it could just crumble.

It was so amazing to look at the costume and just be able to picture the scenes from the movie.

Mrs. Banks “Votes For Women” was such a great scene and the costumes were just as impressive up close.

There was a sign that said that Mary Poppins horse had been restored at one point which explains its shinier appearance.

The original story boards when they were figuring out how to turn the book into a movie and “gags” that would happen.

It was such a treat for me to see all these memorable pieces from one of my all time favorite movies.
