Sometimes it can be like pulling teeth to get your kids to brush them. My daughter loves anything “new”. (Who doesn’t right?) When it comes to brushing her teeth it is no exception. I learned that if I keep teeth brushing new and exciting then she is way more inclined to cooperate.
I now stock pile new toothbrushes and toothpaste. When she gives me a hard time about brushing I tell her I have a present. I quickly throw a new toothbrush in a bag and give it to her. She opens it and gets excited to use her new “present”. This continues to work and until it doesn’t I will continue to be the crazy mom who buys massive amounts of toothbrushes and toothpaste. My thought is the cost of a new toothbrush is a small price to pay to have my daughter happily cooperate with teeth brushing. My daughter first does a little taste test of the new toothpaste to make sure it isn’t mint flavored.
Once she realizes she likes the flavor the fun begins.
I was excited to learn about the new Oral-B Disney Timer App. I put the app on my daughter’s iPad and she immediately wanted to brush more. She created more than one profile and brushes multiple times a day. She loves picking a character and earning digital stickers. The interactive part of scanning the product is so fun…especially since we stock pile new Oral-B toothbrushes. My daughter loves the app and as a mom I love it too!
What are the crazy things you do to get your kids to brush their teeth?
