Little Monkey’s love of life and trying new things has sparked her interest in a triathlon. I think this is awesome. I have never done one, but pondered it many times. (I own a cruiser, not a “real bike”, so I feel I would need a better bike, hint hint nudge nudge husband 😉 )There is a local kids triathlon that we looked at and she is planning on doing. The distance for 6 and under (her age group) is 1 lap in the pool, 1 mile bike ride, and a 1/4 mile run. Totally doable for her and I think she will love it! She is crazy excited. The race is a little over a month away. I’m hoping it warms up a little though because she hasn’t been swimming in months. This way she can get a little more practice before hand.
I can’t believe she will be completing a triathlon before I ever have! My daughter amazes me at times with her want and her will to try new things. She doesn’t have the fear I have of “will I be able to do that?” and I find that so inspiring. I’ll keep you posted on how this goes. In the meanwhile though any advice you can give would be great. Like I said I have never done a trip, but I’m thinking there might be tips for the transition area and things? Because the distance isn’t long she says she will just bike and run in her bathing suit and I think that is probably fine right? Again, any tips, tricks or hacks are greatly appreciated so I can help her.
