Must-Have Fall Workout Gear Heading Into Colder Temperatures

Thank you to adidas for sponsoring this post. All opinions are always my own.

With the temperatures dropping and the seasons changing, it is time to start bundling up! Here are must-have fall workout gear items you need in your wardrobe now so you are prepared for the colder months.

I am looking forward to saying goodbye hot sweaty summer workouts and hello to cooler temperatures. I love when the seasons change and I can start wearing layers for my outdoor training runs and workouts.

Must-Have Hoodie

Multiple hoodies is a must for me. I throw them on when I head to the gym and after a workout. The worst is being sweaty and going outside in the cold in your damp workout clothes. Layering up with a hoodie can save you from getting a chill. I also always have one in my car at all times because a hoodie always comes in handy when the temperatures are colder than you expect them to be. Here is a great selection of hoodies from adidas.

Must-Have Warm Socks

All socks are not created equal. Socks that you wear in the summer should be different than the socks you wear in the winter. They don’t necessarily have to be thicker, but different materials can help keep your feet warmer. I learned this the hard way on a run in 20 degree weather and my toes started to feel numb. You will thank me on those cold outdoor long runs.

Must-Have Shoes With Traction

If you are working out or running outside, when the weather is bad you will want shoes with better traction. No one wants to slip and fall. Surfaces can become slick and the tread on the bottom of the shoe makes a big difference, especially if you are on dirt or gravel. adidas has a great selection of trail shoes and hiking boots.

Must-Have Water Proof Jacket

A jacket is a no brainer, but I suggest a thick jacket and also a thin water proof layer. For a workout the thinner jacket will be much easier to move around in. You can also easily layer the thinner jacket on top of a long sleeve workout shirt to help stay warm.

Must-Have Hat

Did you know that if your head isn’t covered you can lose heat? Just like you wouldn’t wear shorts when it’s really cold, wearing a hat or beanie can help you retain heat. Make sure you find one that is a workout friendly material though. You want something that is wicking.

Must-Have Gloves

Keeping your hands warm can be just as important. If you don’t like full gloves, try fingerless gloves so at least part of your hands are covered. Tip: They also make gloves where the index finger can still use the touchscreen on your phone without having to take the glove off.

While we might not have freezing temperatures right now, it’s good to plan ahead of time and get your gear so you are ready when the time comes. There is nothing worse than not having what you need. What are some of your fall workout must haves?
