I had a beautiful Mother’s Day spent at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The aquarium recently opened a new exhibit “Tentacles” and we hadn’t been there to see it. We got there early in the day and I’m so glad we did because as time went on the aquarium got very crowded. Everyone and their mother was there…literally. 😉
The jellyfish exhibit is always one of my favorites. The lighting and effects they have in the exhibit with all these beautiful jellies are very cool.
The hammerhead shark has always been one of my favorite “animals” since I was little. I think they are just such an amazing creature.
My daughter always waves to the sea turtles and says “Hi dudes!” (a Nemo reference).
One of my all time favorite things at the Monterey Bay Aquarium though is always what my daughter calls “The Big Pink Octopus”. She named him/her Mrs. Lily.
On this particular visit though it was such a treat because the octopus was very active. He/she would crawl across the glass right in front of us and stretched out.
The octopus would launch itself across the tank. It was such a fun experience to see this.
The weather was perfect and it was such a great family day.
If you are ever in the area I definitely recommend a visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
