Learning Is About Making Mistakes and That Is Marvelous! Get Ready For Summer Camp

Innovation is what drives our world.  It is time to start thinking about summer camp and I want a day camp that sparks creativity, fosters learning, but most importantly fun! My daughter will be 6 by summer and is all about trying new things and learning about EVERYTHING.

IMG_3674My little monkey and I had to make cookies for her Valentine’s Day party at school.  She, of course, wanted to help me.  We mixed the ingredients together and made the sugar cookie dough.  We rolled them out and little monkey was in charge of using the heart cookie cutter to make 24 cookies.

IMG_3709After they were baked we let them cool down and then it was time to frost them.

Little monkey had watched a video of a lady who makes really elaborate designs on her sugar cookies using frosting and swirling them with a toothpick.  My little monkey wanted to do this to the Valentine’s Day cookies.  I said of course, but I wanted to make sure she realized that the lady in the video had lots of practice so ours may not be quite as perfect in the beginning and that is totally ok.  I explained to little monkey that the cookies would taste delicious no matter what they looked liked and mistakes are just part of learning.  Mistakes are marvelous.

Since 2002, Galileo Camps has been shaping a new generation of innovators by teaching kids to explore, make mistakes and create without fear! Drawing from the innovation process inspired by the Stanford Galileo’s curriculum packs serious substance and sparks kids’ imagination from pre-k through 8th grade.

FullSizeRender21One of the most impactful things about the Galileo experience is the staff and how much heart and energy they bring to camp every day. They screen thousands of applicants each year to find the absolute best people to work at their camps. The people they hire not only have the silly gene but a deep passion for education and developing young innovators as well.

Get a jump on summer camp and register your kids for Galileo before February 29th and you can get a $40 discount AND the Early Bird Savings.  After February 29th the $40 discount will still be active, but mot the early bird savings. Use code 2016BOLD for $40 off. FYI, you can change your camp date or location through May 2 for absolutely no fee.

Have you thought about the best summer camp for your kids this summer?
