Remember back on August 8th when I got up at 3:30am to go hike Half Dome in Yosemite National Park? I totally did that! It was crazy hard both mentally and physically, but so incredible. I’m still working on editing all my GoPro footage for the video, but I decided to compile it all into a quick fast motion video as a teaser.
We go up the Mist Trail (granite “stairs” for days) and then head up to Half Dome past Nevada Falls. In the fast motion video I don’t have about half the hike up because my GoPro camera wouldn’t have lasted that long, BUT it gives you a good idea of what the it would be like. I started recording again when I got to the 400ft of cable you have to climb to get to the summit. It was scary, yet empowering in some weird way. You will see the views and people at the summit and then my climb back down the cables followed by the “granite staircase” that lies right after the cables. Enjoy!
I will be writing more about hiking Half Dome and sharing an edited video later as well as tips that I have for anyone interested in doing the hike.

That’s a great preview! I’m eager to read about the details later. I’m going to California to attend D23 next year, so I’d love to squeeze in an epic hike to the half dome during that trip.

It was truly amazing! (D23 is also amazing too!) Be sure to apply for your permit in March for Half Dome. 🙂
