Family Favorite Dessert

My family enjoys homemade desserts and this blueberry lime sorbet is really easy and equally delicious. My daughter also enjoys helping me make this delectable treat. I find my daughter is more likely to eat whatever I am cooking if she gets to help prepare the meal. Any other parents agree?

Best Summer Dessert

Cold sorbet is the middle of the hot summer is always a fantastic idea. This icy sorbet makes a fantastic dessert for summer dinner parties.
Tip: Scoop ahead of time and put in freezer so when you are ready for dessert just pull out and serve.
Bonus Tip: While chocolate is delicious, it isn’t very refreshing on a hot summer night, so keep that in mind while picking a dessert for a summer time party. How to make homemade sorbet

Dairy Free and Gluten Free Dessert

Fruit sorbets are great options for people who are dairy free and gluten free. Topping this sorbet with some fresh fruit adds another element of flavor. I recommend strawberries, raspberries, banana, and coconut. A crunchy gluten-free cereal would also be a fantastic topping. Both Coco Pebbles and Fruity Pebbles are gluten free and make scrumptious, crunchy dessert toppings. You can put a few bowls of several toppings on the table and let people add to their dessert. A gluten free granola would work too.

Fat Free and Lower Calorie Dessert

This homemade sorbet is fat-free and lower in calories than ice cream. It is a great option for someone who wants to make their own dessert and know what is going into it. You can also cut the amount of sugar you are putting into the recipe if you want to save more calories.

Like with any recipe, you can tweak the ingredients to fit your taste. If you want less or more lime juice feel free to play around and that is something you can try. Less sugar would cut more of the calories out. I haven’t tried it with sugar substitutes, but you can give it a go and see how it works out. If your blueberries are sweet enough, cutting out some of the sugar would definitely work. If the berries are more tart, the sugar is what would make it sweet.

Making sorbet at home isn’t complicated and doesn’t take any fancy tools. This is an easy dessert to make and enjoy.
