This post was created in partnership with Stonyfield Organic. All opinions are always my own.
The holiday season isn’t just about shopping, decorating, and eating delicious food, it should also be a time of giving back. Stonyfield Organic wanted to share this holiday season and have people give back to their community. They sent me a $50 visa gift card and we got to choose how we wanted to give back. Some great ideas are blankets for the homeless, helping the SPCA, or donating food. My daughter’s school does a food drive every year and for some reason this year they were very low on donations. We decided to take the $50 gift card and match it. We headed to the grocery store and filled a cart.
It was also a great time for me to teach my daughter about identifying healthier, better for you food, to donate. Look for low sodium canned vegetables and fruit that is in natural juices and not heavy syrup.
Remember that giving back can be done all year long and not just the holidays. School supplies, warm jackets, volunteering at a shelter, these are all things that can be done any time of year. Happy Holidays!
