The Gap Between My Daughter’s Teeth Is So Big She Can Put A Straw Through It…

This is a sponsored post. However, all thoughts and opinions are always my own.

…not even joking.  My daughter has a gap between her two front teeth that put David Letterman and Madonna to shame.  People always think she has lost a tooth.  Not the case.  Here is an example to give you a visual:
Invisalign apple
Yep, that is my daughter’s teeth marks in an apple.  The funny thing is when I look at this all I can think of is “I wonder how long she will have to have braces?”.  I recently attended an Invisalign Straight Talk event with SITS Girls.  Man, the world of orthodontics has changed since I was a kid!  I learned so much about Invisalign.
Invisalign Teen is available for pre-teen and teens. Clear aligners are removable and can straighten teeth without a mouth full of metal and all the disruption and sacrifice that comes with it.  With Invisalign, Teens can play sports without fear of injury and continue cheerleading, musical instruments, acting and singing without interference. Because it’s removable, brushing and flossing is easy and no food restrictions to worry about either.   Suddenly I’m not feeling worried about her needing braces anymore.
I started to think though, kids are a little sneaky.  How would a parent know if their child is actually wearing the Invisalign aligners since they are clear and not noticeable?  Well, this company is genius and thought of that.  Small blue dots, officially called compliance indicators, gradually fade as aligners are worn. It’s a quick visual check for doctors, teens and parents to confirm aligners are being worn enough to get results.
Before I attended this event I was under the impression of a myth: Invisalign can only treat minor or cosmetic issues.

Setting it Straight: Invisalign effectively treats a wide variety of orthodontic issues including severe bite issues. From underbite to crossbite, deepbite to overbite and overly crowded to widely spaced, advancements to Invisalign’s patented technology continues to increase the complexity of issues that can be treated.

When my parents took me to an orthodontist to discuss braces when I was young they did the gross molds and then discussed the results with us.  Apparently my jaw alignment was perfect, but he recommended braces for cosmetic reasons.  My parents said “No”.  Basically they were sorry, but not sorry, cosmetic braces wasn’t in their budget.
I have always secretly wished I had straighter teeth.   No adult wants to go get metal braces though.  Now that I learned about Invisalign I think I need to reevaluate.

I am in the last 4 months of my Invisalign treatment!!! One of the best things I’ve done for myself… I too had parents that did not look in to braces for my Sister and I. She used the standard brace treatment, which was corrected faster than mine, but very few knew of my treatment as Invisalign is hard to detect!! I LOVE Invisalign.
