I made a super cute costume to wear for the 5k, but heard on the news last night that the windchill would be 29 degrees this morning. In a moment of panic I was able to put together a warm Goofy costume. I am SO glad I did, because I was still freezing. That Goofy hat I wore was a lifesaver helping to keep me warm.
The orange shirt I found at the expo was pretty cute for the Goofy costume too. On the back it said “This was a Dopey idea.”
All the runners were huddled together. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. The wind was like cold ice when it blew.
Once we got started I warmed up nicely. Flik from Bug’s Life was the first character and he was in the backstage area. I didn’t stop due to I wanted to warm up a little more first. We made our way into Epcot and I did stop for a picture with Daisy in Norway.
Over in Italy was Pinocchio.
Chip and Dale were in Japan and I didn’t stop due to the long line.
Marie the cat was in France.
Donald was near Canada and I didn’t stop because I was starting to get cold again. Right at the end my knee started to hurt really bad. Hoping to get through this in one piece. I won’t be pushing myself to hard.
I finished the race and hightailed it back to the hotel for a hot shower. One race, 3.1 miles done. Only 3 more early mornings and 45.5 more miles left to go. 🙂

That was definitely a cold morning! The next morning for the 10k was cold too. Are you going to run in your original Goofy costume again? Do you ever repeat your costumes? I made four costumes for the Dopey Challenge and there are dozens of new costumes I can create, but a couple of them turned out so well that it’s almost a shame to retire them for good.
