I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the 24 hour Kick Off to Monstrous Summer Allnighter Party at Disneyland. Disneyland was open from 6am on Friday morning until 6am Saturday morning of Memorial Day weekend.
We didn’t get there around 5pm on Friday. Since it was the beginning of Memorial Day weekend I expected it to be really crowded, but while it was more crowded than during the year it wasn’t nearly as bad as I had thought. We only waited 5 minutes to get on the teacups when we got there. After teacups we walked over to Small World and only waited 8 minutes. I was pretty happy about the wait times over all. Since my daughter is only 3 and at least an inch shy of the E ticket rides height requirements we were never faced with super long waits.
There were lots of fun Monster themed food items. I enjoyed a Monstrous cakepop and it was delicious!
We later walked over to California Adventure and rode The Little Mermaid, my 3 year olds favorite. We also love running around and hanging out inside the animation building took advantage of that. By this time of night the Mad Tea Party was going on so we of course had to check that out too.
My husband and 3 year old went back to the hotel room around midnight and I stayed to hang out and partake in the late night fun. I went over to Toontown where Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale were hanging out in their pajamas. They also had a big screen showing cartoons and chairs to enjoy the film. On the other side of Toontown near Roger Rabbit’s spin they had karaoke set up and that seemed to be quite popular. It had a large crowd. There were also face painters. I had my picture taken with Goofy and than headed out of Toontown to go ride Buzz Lightyear Astroblasters. The lines weren’t very long for anything. I waited for maybe 5 minutes to get onto Buzz.
At 4am in front of the castle Good Morning America started taping to show all the crazy people still awake at Disneyland to the newly awake people on the East Coast.
All in all I had a great time, I was happy with the extra entertainment offered, and the crowds were way less than I anticipated. I would definitely do it again.
I met a couple that had started at Disney World at 6am and partied there and than hopped a plane to come to Disneyland and stayed there until 6am. Now that sounds like a party!
Did you attend the Monstrous All Night party at Disneyland or Disney World?

Sadly no, unless they invent teleportation… damn me for living on another continent.
Must say those monster cakepops look awesome.
