Ok, so it wasn’t an “official” tour, but I did dress up as a Disneyland Tour Guide for the Disneyland 5k 2014. I have wanted to do this costume for quite some time. I wore a plaid skirt that I made, a velvet hat and even had a riding crop, just like the pros 😉
The Disneyland 5k started at 5:30am. It was early. Rudy and Carissa (the runDisney race announcers) were out there and were joined by Lilo and Stitch (the race was Lilo and Stitched themed).
The gentleman who played and sang the national anthem was AHHMAZING! Probably the best I have ever heard. Loved it!!!
The Disneyland 5k isn’t time. There were 3 corrals. I was in “A” and was off to a fast start. We first made our way through backstage and into California Adventure near Radiator Springs. First photo opp was Lightening McQueen. The problem with racing when it is still dark out is that the pictures are dark too. I tried to lighten them as much as I could.
I ran into some “friends” back in Fantasy Land.
Stitch was over in Frontierland.
I finished in a 30:14 even with all the picture stops. I was pretty sweaty from running in a velvet hat and polyester vest, but it was tons of fun. I don’t think many “normal” people understood my costume, but ALL the cast members got it and loved it. That part was awesome.
I had a great time and can’t wait to get up bright and early the next 2 days for the 10k and half marathon.

Love your race attire, so cute! what a fun recap. I need to start thinking about these Disney 5ks…they have the best characters!

I use to not do them, but I figure if I am already there for the longer race I might as well do the 5ks too 🙂
