I ran the Disneyland 5k the day before I started my Dumbo Double Dare Challenge journey. The Dumbo Double Dare Challenge, for those of you that don’t know, consists of running the Disneyland 10k and the Disneyland Half Marathon. You get a shiny special Dumbo medal for completing both.
My 4 year old, who is my costume stylist, picked Belle for me to dress up as.
The race started at 5:30am. Carissa and Rudy, the runDisney race announcers, were out there with us bright and early again. The 10k course heads out around the streets of Anaheim near Disneyland. It cuts through the Anaheim Convention Center area and after about 2 miles starts to head into California Adventure and Disneyland.
The World of Color fountains were going.
I found Mater over in Cars Land.
We made our way over to Disneyland and no runDisney race is complete without a picture in front of the castle.
Stitch dressed as Elvis was in Frontierland near the Rivers of America.
The Disneyland10k course ends with the last half mile winding through Downtown Disney and the finish line is right next to the Disneyland Hotel. I love the course. The crowd support was amazing. I had a blast!
After I finished I was even MORE excited to run the Disneyland Half the next day.
