I was thrilled to be invited again to the Disney Social Media Moms On The Road event this year. Last year I attended the San Francisco event. This year the location was at the beautiful Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. It was quite hot, but I had a great time.
I flew in just for a quick 24 hours. I got to see some of my favorite mom bloggers, many of which I have met and formed a bond with from the previous year Disney Social Media Moms event. Patty from My No Guilt Life, Jindy from Flowers Croon and Dawn from I Am A Mommy Nerd, just to name a few of these awesome ladies.
I checked in, got my name badge and found some friends. Then the doors opened and it was instantly magical. A soundtrack featuring all my favorite Disney songs played as we networked, photographed, mingled and had a chance to show our Disney Side.
Breakfast was served to us before the presentations started. Deliciousness!
As a fun way to meet new faces, network and break the ice they gave each of us a pin to “pin trade” with each other. I thought this was such a cute idea. I love the pin I got since my family has a special Ursula obsession.
The presentations kicked off with a fun Disney Parks announcements. July 17th, 2015 is the 60th anniversary of Disneyland. The Disney Parks team seem to have quite a fun celebration up their sleeve for the diamond anniversary. I can’t wait to learn more since the 50th anniversary celebration in 2005 was AMAZING!
We learned about the Huggies Mominspired Grant Program. The program awards $15,000 grants to help moms develop their parenthood inspired products. To learn more you can visit the website here.
HP gave us all awesome Disney Side cards and a package of photo paper so we can print our own at home. We had a fun presentation about HP products and all the ways these new online tools can help make our lives easier. They have great online printables! To learn more you can visit the HP site here.
Disney had tons of prizes that was given out during the conference and I was lucky enough to win a $100 Disney gift card from Alamo!
A mid conference snack of Festival of Fantasy Parade cookies was brought out for us. Side note: I saw this parade on a visit to Walt Disney World and if you haven’t had a chance to see it you should definitely add it to you must do list for your next visit.
At the end we were surprised with a visit from the most famous social media cat of all, the official Grumpy Cat. She fell asleep as I was taking a picture with her. Typical… haha
I had an amazing time. I love meeting new people who also have a love of Disney, Social Media and sharing life experiences. I will leave you with this great info graphic about “Tips for Summer Fun at Disneyland Resort”.
