Dear Lily, On Your First Day of Pre-K…

Dear Lily,

I am so incredibly proud to be your mom.  Today is your first day of Pre-K.  I can’t believe it.  I feel like you went from this, my itty bitty little “pocket baby”….

To this, my beautiful big girl….

photoin the blink of an eye.

I hope you love being “the big kid on campus” this year and that big kid playground that you have been staring at for the last 2 years lives up to all your hopes and dreams.  You were a little bummed when we found out that your best friends were all in the other class, but you still were SO excited to start school.  I hope you never lose that love of learning and excitement to meet new people.  You love making friends and you are so good at being one.  Your laugh can make a crowd of people laugh along with you and your goofy sense of humor is so witty.  I wish I could be a fly on the wall today and watch how your first day of Pre-K goes.  I wish you a year of bliss my beautiful little goofy monkey.

I love you to the moon and back…infinity time,

Mama

It is so hard when our babies leave us to become big kids isn’t it?! I remember when I dropped off my boys at preschool and the weird feeling that I was entrusting the teachers to take care of them. I hate to tell you but that feeling doesn’t change! My twins just started middle school and I had to trust they could get to their classes on their own!

BTW your daughter is just beautiful! She is such a “mini-me” of you! I hope she has a great time today! 🙂

Thank you!!! She had a fabulous first day. I had a nervous pit in my stomach all day though. Us moms worry too much. I hope your twins are liking middle school. I feel like if I blink I may be taking my daughter to middle school tomorrow. Lol 🙂
