It happened. My daughter graduated from preschool. After 3 years of watching her grow we are leaving the comforts of our preschool and moving on to the next step…KINDERGARTEN! Not to sound too cliche, but how did this happen so fast?
Now she looks so grown up to me. My husband got tears in his eyes when he saw her in the cap and gown.
Our preschool has a really fun graduation party. The kids wear cap and gowns and all walk in to their seats. They say the Pledge of Allegiance and then they sang a song in Spanish. Each child had their name called and received their diploma and a book about going to kindergarten. After that they all were given a sunflower to give to their mom. The preschool has a BBQ caterer come in and all the families enjoy dinner together.
On each table was the child’s picture and plate they had made.
My mom and sister even came in for the occasion.
I remember on my daughter’s first day of preschool, 3 years ago, passing the wall of handprints. Graduates get to leave their handprint on the wall during their last few days of school.
Lily,
I am SO proud of you in everything you do. Onward and upwards to kindergarten little monkey!
Love,
Mama
