Carthay Circle is one of my favorite restaurants at the Disneyland Resort. The restaurant is inside Disney California Adventure. The food is always delicious, the service has always been great, and the drinks are well made. The new World of Color premiered this weekend for Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary. I knew the Fastpasses for the viewing would go fast. Instead of being stressed out trying to get one, my friend Jindy, who writes Flowers Croon, and I decided that a reservation at Carthay Circle for the World of Color dining package would be well worth it.
One of my absolute favorite things about Carthay Circle restaurant is the decor. It is themed very old Hollywood. There are photos of Walt Disney around the restaurant and lounge. Here I am just hanging out in the lounge area with Uncle Walt and Aunt Lillian.
The World of Color dining packages have special prix fixe menus. The lunch was $39 for the 3 course menu. It was definitely worth it for the amount of food we enjoyed PLUS the Fastpass for World of Color.
Carthay Circle has a nice bar/lounge area to relax and get a drink while in California Adventure. Our table wasn’t quite ready when we got there so we enjoyed a drink in the Lounge while we waited. I ordered my usual, a Moscow Mule. They don’t have copper mugs, but it was still good.
FYI: The menu changes somewhat regularly, so what I enjoyed might not be on the menu when you eat there.
I picked the Lemongrass Coconut Broth accented Tangerine with vermicelli, sugar snap peas, mushrooms, and glazed pork for my first course. I loved the spicy flavor.
For my second course I picked the Roasted Chicken with Strawberries. The server (who was awesome by the way) recommended it and I am so glad I listened to him. The chicken was nice and tender.
I had the Creme Brûlée tart for dessert. It wasn’t a traditional ramekin of cream. It was a cookie type shell with the custard inside of it. The blueberries were a nice pairing with it.
The reserved viewing area at World of Color specifically for Carthay Circle is dead center. You can’t get a better viewing area than that. The regular Fastpasses are off to either side. If you are planning a trip and World of Color viewing is a priority for you I definitely recommend Carthay Circle for the lunch package.
