Aulani Breakfast

Heading to Disney’s Aulani resort? Aulani dining can be tough if you don’t plan ahead with reservations.  That said, here is some information to help break it down for you. There are two main sit-down Aulani restaurants,  ‘Ama’Ama and Makahiki. If you don’t need table service there are a few other options for breakfast at Aulani that I will discuss also. The Aulani character breakfast is at Makahiki.

Makahiki was a lot of fun with a meet and greet photo op with Mickey, the big cheese himself, before we went in to enjoy the breakfast buffet.  The great thing about the buffet is it has lots of choices and has a huge Japanese food offering too.  Miso soup for breakfast? Yes please!

Auntie, from the kids club, leads singing and dancing to keep the kids entertained.  I also love when Goofy joins me for breakfast.

‘Ama’Ama is really the only true sit down restaurant at Aulani because Makahiki is a buffet. ‘Ama’Ama offers beautiful open concept dining along the ocean.  I would describe this as a higher end option.  Their açai bowl was delicious!  This was the perfect relaxing vacation breakfast.

The girls loved the Mickey pancakes on the kids menu at ‘Ama’Ama.

They also have quick service/counter service at Ulu Cafe with lots of breakfast options.  Some hot breakfast items as well as donuts, cereal, pastries and more!  This is also where you can find the Dole whips ?

If you want to go off property we enjoyed the bagels and coffee across the street from the resort at Island Vintage Coffee.  For dinner we loved Monkey Pod Kitchen, which is also across from the resort, but sadly they are not open for breakfast.

Remember to make reservations ahead of time for Makahiki and ‘Ama’Ama!  For more information about Aulani check out my other post with all the details!
