For the past year I have basically worn the Saucony Kinvara exclusively. I still love them, but after reading a great review about the Asics GEL-Lyte 33 3 I wanted to give them a try.
The Asics GEL-Lyte 33 3 are a very light weight natural style running shoe. It is designed for underpronators and neutral runners, which I am. The Asics GEL-Lyte 33 3 has a 6mm drop. I often have ankle problems when I wear the wrong shoe, which is why I’m hesitant at times to try new ones. I have had no ankle problems at all in the Asics GEL-Lyte 33 3. I have about 90 miles on them so far and really enjoy running in them.
The Asics GEL-Lyte 33 3 still feel lightweight like the Saucony Kinvaras that I am use to. One difference that I feel though is they are a little softer, cushier, marshmallowy than the Kinvaras. I’m trying to decide whether I like this better or not than the Kinvaras. Sometimes the slightly softer feeling ride is a treat. The Asics GEL-Lyte 33 3 come at a price that won’t break the bank, which is also nice. I stress again that these shoes are a minimal lightweight neutral shoe. If that is your style then I definitely recommend these.
I won’t quit my Kinvaras, but I am definitely going to add these into my shoe rotation.
Have you tried the Asics GEL-Lyte 33 3’s?

I love the colors on these shoes, but they appear to not have much padding? What say you???
