Obstacle racing is becoming a growing and FUN race segment and the Reebok Spartan Race series is leading the way! Testing your endurance both mentally and physically with mud, fire, water, barbed wire and more. Spartan Race is a must on an endorphin junkie bucket list. Training and completing a Spartan Race also gives you some pretty awesome bragging rights.
Spartan Race now introduces a level for everyone beginning with the entry level Spartan Sprint, intermediate level Super Spartan, the advanced Spartan Beast, and the ‘99.9% need not apply’ extreme level Death Race. Now there is really no excuse not to try it because you know you want to and there is a level for you!
They have races all over the country. I’m eyeballing the Malibu race in December myself. Malibu and Spartan Race sounds like a great racecation to me. How about a Spartan Sprint in a ballpark? Super fun right? Fenway Park and Spartan Race sounds like some legendary memories. Here is a map and list of Spartan Race 2013/2014 events.
Spartan Race has been voted the #1 obstacle race by Outside Magazine and are the global leader in obstacle racing since 2005. Sounds like a great place to start for a newbie mud run or obstacle racer, but now with all the different levels it also sounds like a GREAT place to test how tough you actually are for the veteran. Anyone out there tough enough for the Death Race?!?!?!

Awesome giveaway! The Spartan Race has changed my life. After the first one I was hooked! I’m hoping to compete the trifecta this year as long as I can find a way to pay for it as a broke college kid 🙂

I’m not sure if this is still going on, but I hope so! I started on my running journey (which has surprisingly been a life changing thing for me…I could barely walk a mile due to health/weight issues before) the beginning of 2012. I went from my first race, an 8k, to my first half marathon in 6 months. And yes, we’re talking about a still pretty chubby chub girl, here! I have completed my 2nd half marathon this year, on the anniversary of my first race. And I have that long stretch of 26.2 set in my sights (March 2015) and, yes, by the grace of God, I will make it to Boston one day. Not to watch, but to cross those 2 lines that I never realized would mean so much.
I have always been told by my father I can’t do things. That I’m not good enough, that I just don’t have it in me to push that far. He said that about my very first week of training when I started out, the night before my first race, when I signed up for my first half marathon…it just goes on. He’s been wrong all these times, of course, but it’s still hurtful.
I know I am brave enough to try a Spartan race. I have faced so many other things and did awesome. I just want to prove to myself that I can do it. That I’m not just a single mom of 2 little girls, that I’m amazing. That I can get out there and push myself outside of my comfort zone and do something most guys wouldn’t do, much less something I never ever saw myself even attempting. Now it’s my passion, and I want to make myself and my 2 little girls proud!

I think this would be so much fun and a nice change from normal road races!

To CHALLENGE myself.

Because I’ve never done anything like it before!

I would love to do a Spartan Race because I have never done an obstacle mud run before. I have done half marathons but running is different compared to all the obstacles that are in the Spartan race. I want to challenge myself to the next fitness level.
