The NYC Marathon lottery closes on February 15th! This is a friendly reminder to apply if you want even a slim chance or running it. From the numbers I’ve seen only about 5% of lottery entries can be picked due to the high demand, BUT some chance is better than no chance at all. The NYC Marathon is my ultimate bucket list race. This is my 4th year applying. Fingers crossed! They use to have a rule that if you were denied 3 times you were automatically in the 4th year…unfortunately that went away the same year I started applying…so I will just keep on keeping on every year until I get in.
I had the awesome experience of running the NYC Half last year and it was AMAZING! You can read my recap here.

Glad I can help 🙂

You can always run NYC marathon by fundraising. I was surprised how quickly I gained acceptance (2 days after I sent in my application) as a time qualifier. I think the number of lottery runners taken depends alot on how many qualifiers and elite runners are in the field. Good luck!

Thank you! I have entertained the idea of running for charity, but the minimum for the NYC charities is $3500. That is a big number to commit to. If I continue not to get in one of these years I will probably do that 🙂
