I am a total introvert and I find all the events I have to go to mentally, physically and emotionally exhausting. YOU ARE NOT ALONE! With more crowds in local stores, family gatherings, and more people everywhere it’s so hard to stay centered during the holidays. 5 Ways for Introverts to Survive the Holidays
Keep Eyes on Your Calendar
You are the only one who knows your limits when it comes to holiday gatherings. That’s why you need to keep both eyes on your calendar. This will keep you from saying yes to more events than you can handle as an introvert.
Organize a Gathering
Instead of attending other people’s events, try to organize a gathering this year. This will allow you to set an atmosphere that works to keep you from getting overwhelmed and the crowd smaller than you may encounter at other people’s gatherings.
Take a Break
When out at a large holiday gathering or holiday shopping, take a break. Don’t be afraid to pull away from the noise and crowds to get a little break. You can even ask a friend to take a short walk with you. This allows you to connect with a friend without the background noise and busyness.
Meditate Alone
Download a meditation app to have on hand during the holidays. This allows you to sneak off into a bathroom or a guest room to sit alone and practice deep breathing or listen to a self-guided meditation app to find your center again.
Make Time for Quieter Moments
If you must attend multiple holiday gatherings and go out into the crowds to shop for your gift-giving needs, then make sure you schedule in quiet moments. Take your calendar out and put quiet days into your schedule so that you can rejuvenate from all of that busyness that the holidays bring.
