5 Things To Have Before You Leave For A Summer Vacation

checklist_summer_vacationSummer vacations make memories for the entire family. While traveling and away from home it is always a good idea to be ready for anything. This is why I put together a list of 5 things you should have when you head out for your summer vacation.

1. First Aid Kit-  Always travel with a first aid kit.  If something happens you want to be prepared without having to find a store in an area you are unfamiliar with.  They make small, travel size first aid kits, so you can be prepared.

Children’s Acetaminophen-  My daughter is the queen of developing a fever when we travel.  Acetaminophen helps keep the fever down while also helping to make the child more comfortable.  Fevers often happen at night when you won’t have a chance to go buy some, so it is always a good idea to bring some with you.

3.  A Seperation Plan- If you ever get separated from your child, make sure you all know the same plan.  Does your child know your phone number?  If they are too young you can write your phone number on their arm and put clear nail polish over it.  This will last through hand washing and if they get separated your phone number will be with them.  Make sure your children know not to go anywhere with anyone and stay in the same place.

suitcases5.  Important Items In Carry-On- When traveling make sure to keep medication in your carry-on luggage, just incase your luggage doesn’t show up on time or if you get stuck somewhere overnight.  It is also a good idea to have toothbrushes, change of clothes, and snacks for the family in a carry-on.
