I think I say this every year, but I really mean it, this year FLEW by. I can’t believe it. I feel like I just finished cleaning up my daughter’s 4th birthday party…which was in March.
I had the pleasure of running so pretty cool races. Here are some of my favorites from this year.
The Inaugural Dopey Challenge, finishing the 5k, 10k, half marathon and full marathon in 4 consecutive days. I wore 4 different costumes including of of my favorites, Mary Poppins.
I followed that up by immediately running at Disneyland the next week. I paced my sister to finish her first 10k and I ran the Tinker Bell Half myself.
We headed back to Disney World for Princess weekend. I ran the 5k and the Glass Slipper Challenge (10k and half).
I ran the Sunrunners 10k in Vero Beach Florida while I was visiting family. Also fun to run a race in a new place.
I got to cross a bucket list race off my list and run the NYC Half Marathon. It was an amazing weekend.
My daughter turned 4 and of course she wanted the coolest, biggest, Frozenish cake we could get. I love my little monkey so much.
I ran the Big Sur 9 Miler again. Always a fun race.
May brought me 2 new races. I ran the OC Half Marathon and the Mountains 2 Beach Half Marathon. I had a very…interesting time the night before M2B.
I ran my first Divas Half Marathon and had a GREAT time. I love the flat course and the tiaras, boas, champagne and half naked men weren’t to bad either. hehe
My daughter joined me for her first big race with me. I brought the jogging stroller along and she alternating between running and riding. We had fun and she still talks about it. I ran the 5 miler and she probably ran about 2 miles of it. Proud of her. The same weekend at the Sharks Fitness Face-off I got a new 5k PR of 23:57.
The San Francisco Giants Half is always a favorite on my locally and I was happy to add that one to my list again this year. My sister came with me as my cheering squad.
Disneyland half marathon weekend is one of my favorite race weekends. I ran the 5k and the Dumbo Double Dare Challenge (10k and half).
I got to run the Chicago Marathon which was one of the most amazing race experiences I have had.
I earned my Tiffany’s necklace at Nike Women’s Half the following weekend.
The weekend after that I took my first trip to Washington DC and race my first Marine Corps Marathon. The trip to DC was AMAZING!I even got to do the Runner’s World shakeout run. Always fun to see Bart Yasso!
I had one weekend off before heading to Florida to swim…I mean run, the really rainy runDisney Wine and Dine Half.
The weekend after we headed to Disneyland for the ridiculously windy Avengers Half. I also ran the 5k the day before.
2014 also had heartbreak. I had to put my 14 year old beagle, Spencer, down. It was his time, but it is still never easy. I got him as a puppy when I was 19 and he had been through everything with me.
I am so thankful for a healthy 2014. May 2015 be the best year yet for all of us! Cheers 🙂
