2_ways_ingredientsIt is almost time to head back to school.  Celebrate with an end of summer BBQ.  Safeway is my go to local grocery store.  It is my one stop shop for everything I need to stock up for school and also to throw one last summer BBQ.  Safeway is an Albertsons banner store and they are all part of a huge anniversary sale! I was able to get everything I needed and on sale.  I want to share 2 of my favorite summer BBQ ingredients made 2 ways.

The first is corn.  I went to Safeway and picked up Brentwood corn one sale 4 for a $1!  Perfect to make my corn 2 ways!

grill_corn1.  Grilled Corn On The Cob- Seriously fool proof!  Brush with olive oil or coconut oil.  Wrap in tinfoil and grill!  I like mine still a little crunchy, but grill longer if you like it softer.

corn_salsa_ingredients2.  Fresh Corn Salsa- Cut corn off of the cob.  Chop up a tomato, onion, jalapeño and a little bit of cilantro.  Squeeze half a lime in.  Mix all ingredients together and serve with chips or top your burger for a fiesta treat.

corn_salsaFresh corn is one of my favorite parts about summer.  Having it on sale means I can enjoy it so many different ways.  How do you love your fresh corn?

The next ingredient that is great to stock up on and also versatile for a summer BBQ is orange juice.  Tropicana is on sale for the Albertsons Anniversary sale too!  I picked up mine at Safeway.  Tropicana is on sale $2.49 when you buy 4.  I was able to get 2 for the BBQ recipes and 2 to have for morning breakfast since school is starting.  The sale runs until August 11th.

sparkling_orange_juice1.  Sparkling Orange Juice- This is super easy, but is a great drink to compliment grilling.  Just mix sparkling water with orange juice and add ice.  It is a delicious refresher.

orange_freeze2.  Frozen Orange Juice Dessert- Place orange juice and ice in a blender.  Blend until a soft sorbet consistency.  If it is to watery, just add more ice until is becomes more solid.  Serve for a refreshing dessert after enjoying all the great eats from the grill.  Kids and adults alike will enjoy it AND it is a healthy choice for a sweet treat.  I often make a batch and freeze it to enjoy for several days.

Huge_SaleThe HUGE Anniversary sale runs from 7/29-8/11. Check out your local Albertsons, Safeway, Vons or banner store near you. I’d love to hear what your favorite corn recipe is since you can’t beat 4/$1!
