Will there be a 10k at the runDisney Tinker Bell Half Marathon weekend?

Inquiring minds want to know if there will be a new 10k and “challenge” announced for Tinker Bell Half Weekend 2014.  I wish I had the answer, but I am just as hopeful as a lot of other people.

First there were strong rumors YES, than there was speculation NO since nothing was announced and some people were able to register for Tink during Princess Half registration.  This would make for complicated logistics if there was a “challenge” at Tink and people who had already registered for just the half wanted to switch.

A couple people have said their sources at the Disney Parks, not runDisney specifically, have confirmed a 10k for Tink.  Other people say that a source at runDisney said there is no information currently.  Races at Disneyland take getting permission from the city of Anaheim since Disneyland is so much smaller than WDW they need city streets.  While a 10k could be mostly contained on property, there would still need a start line an a little running on the city streets.

Runner’s World is showing a 10k distance offered for Tinker Bell, but last I checked Active wasn’t, so who is correct?

I would LOVE for there to be a 10k and a new challenge offered for Tinker Bell weekend (all though my bank account probably wouldn’t), but I also don’t want to get my hopes up until it is announced.

In the mean while I thought I would do some fun brainstorming on good names for the new 10k and challenge, if there is one:

Peter Pan 10k

Neverland Challenge

Pixie Dust Challenge

Don’t be a Mr. Shmee 10k

Pixie Hollow 10k

Tick Tock Crock 10k

Lost Boys Challenge

Just some thoughts 🙂

The funny thing about this photo is I’m only 5’6″ and it makes me look like I’m about 6’2″ haha.

After running Goofy at WDW I earned my Coast to Coast at Tink.

If runDisney announced a 10k and a new challenge for Tinker Bell Half Weekend would you spend the money and sign up?
