10 Things You Should Do In New Orleans
Are you planning a trip to New Orleans? NOLA is such a fun city with so much to do. Whether you are going on a girls trip or family trip to New Orleans, you can’t go wrong with this list. Here are 10 things you should do in New Orleans.
- Get a Shark Attack at Tropical Isle. It is quite literally a shark in your drink.
- Eat at Emeril’s. The food was delicious. To be totally I didn’t know what to expect because of how chefs that have been part of Food Network tend to be a little bit of a sell out in buy opinion when it comes to the quality of the food at their restaurants, but Emeril’s was a very nice restaurant and didn’t have that feel at all.
- Go to the National World War II Museum. You need a minimum of 3 hours and could easily spend an entire day at the museum. I felt like I already knew a lot about WWII, but I still learned SO much at the museum. I would recommend it for tween age and above. It is pretty intense for younger children.
- See a Mardi Gras parade. You don’t have to go just at Mardi Gras to see one. I was there almost a month before and there were ones every night.
- Get beignets at the Ritz. They are so much better than Cafe du Monde! Go to the lounge inside the Ritz Carlton and get yourself and order. The cocktails there are also fantastic.
- Walk along the river. It is fun to see all the boats and cruise ships, plus how often do you get to walk along the Mississippi River?
- Take a tour. There are so many tours. Whether it is on a bus or a walking tour, you can’t go wrong. There is so much to see from history to architecture to graveyards to ghost tours.
- Visit a Voodoo store. It is so interesting to see the voodoo dolls from different countries and to see all the different things offered.
- Make a reservation ahead of time for brunch at Brennan’s. They get booked up so plan accordingly. It is very nice and very delicious.
- Take in the scenery. I had fun with a friend just walking around the French Quarter and taking pictures, one of which is this pic of a for sale sign on a house that is “not haunted”. LOL
