My sister, whom we shall call Kiki, decided she wanted to make her life healthier, lose weight, and just feel better. She asked me to help her do this and I gladly accepted.
My sister probably hasn’t ran a mile since high school. I won’t say her age, but she was born in 1973, hehe I’m her younger sister. She is a lawyer and works in legal aid, so in this day and age she is quite busy working long hours. This is a pit fall because it is so easy to just eat what is around and make excuses about not having time for cardio. This is all about to change because I’m calling her out on it.
We did a starting weigh in On December 29, 2012. 183.3lbs
I told her for the first week to just accomplish the follwing:
Cut out ALL soda (she was a Dr. Pepper addict)
Drink lots of water, 6x16oz minimum a day
Try to eat the least amount of processed foods possible.
Eat between 1200-1400 calories a day
Cardio 3 times a week minimum of either swimming or walk/running for a minimum of 30 minutes
Plank for as long as she can hold it 3 times a day
Wall sits for 45 seconds, 3 times
I felt that these are all good steps in the right direction and are easy to accomplish for someone who is busy and hasn’t exercised in a long time.
After the first week she lost 5 lbs!!!! Woohoo!!!!!! She weighed in the following week, January 5, 2013 at 178.3lbs.
I’m excited to continually update you on Kiki’s weight loss and healthier life adventure as the journey continues!
